In the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside sits Tattershall Lakes Country Park - an action-packed lakeside resort spread over 325 acres. From water skiing and jet skiing to gentler activities such as fishing and an outdoor lido, Tattershall Lakes has it covered. And that's before any of the many and varied land-based attractions are entertained!

As part of TLJ's ongoing relationship with Away Resorts, we have installed eighty-three 'RezLok by TLJ' contactless, electronic smart locks. Fully self-contained and battery powered, they require no additional wiring and are compatible with a range of access credentials such as fobs, key cards, waterproof wristbands and even the visitor's smartphone via our TLJ Mobile Keys app. We installed on a mix of lodges, static caravans and exclusively-themed holiday homes across the site. More holiday homes are pending from static caravan manufacture ABI. As one of TLJ's Approved Installers, ABI will deliver the units to site with RezLoks pre-fitted. This fast-track process only leaves lock programming and commissioning to be carried out on site, hugely reducing the lead time before holiday homes are available for let.

TLJ Adding to the Guest and Operator Experience

Away Resorts have committed to electronic access control as part of their programme to enhance the guest and operator experience. They feel that whilst 'staycations' have seen a revival in recent years (not least due to the Covid-19 pandemic) this also increases competition amongst holiday parks. As a result, the need to offer cutting-edge guest services and facilities is greater than ever. Equally, due to the heightened complexity of on-park facilities, the need to work with reliable and supportive partners - like TLJ - is hugely important.

We have been working very closely with Away Resorts to ensure we add genuine value to park operations. For example, prior to TLJ installing smart locks at Tattershall Lakes, three separate mechanical lock systems meant three sets of master keys for cleaning and maintenance staff. Not only was this hugely inconvenient, it represented a very real security risk if keys fell into the wrong hands.

The Award Winning RezLok by TLJ

Occupying a special place in TLJ’s electronic lock range, RezLok is a fully self-contained electronic smart lock that's compatible with a variety of lock mechanisms and types of door. In particular RezLok works with virtually all configurations of multipoint systems, meaning it is perfect for the kind of uPVC and composite doors found on holiday homes, static caravans and lodges.

It has multiple operating modes, making it ideal for families renting holiday accommodation. Security of the unit can be maintained whilst guarding against accidental lockouts, vital for families with children.

Now in its third generation, RezLok represents state-of-the-art electronic locking and is one of the most advanced of its type in the world. So much so, it won the coveted Product Innovation Award at last year's Holiday Park Resort and Innovation Show at the NEC.

Mobile Keys - the perfect solution for Holiday Parks

The ultimate in contactless access control systems, TLJ Mobile Keys allows guests to open doors using only their smartphone.

The park operator sends the guest a securely encrypted digital key via the cloud, allowing access to a particular door or set of doors with pre-determined start and end times. Once in the vicinity of the door, their phone can be used to activate the lock using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology.

Not only convenient for the guest, but hugely beneficial for the part operator too, Mobile Keys can be sent to guests well in advance of check-in day. This effectively eliminates queues at changeover, removing what can be a huge headache for many parks.

Since Mobile Keys is an enterprise-level solution, we can integrate with a host of on-park systems such as car park barriers, smart lockers, property managements systems (PMS) and even cashless vending machines. Our guest app can be used on its own, branded with the park's chosen design or fully integrated with the park's existing app.

About Tattershall Lakes

Away Resorts acquired Tattershall Lakes back in 2008, and have been developing the site ever since. It has remained a popular location due to its beautiful surroundings and historical significance. From the nearby International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, a trip to Tattershall Lakes is a brilliant way to experience Lincolnshire's (and indeed Britain's) aviation history, with various fascinating sites and museums to explore.

As well as the lakes themselves, Away Resorts Tattershall has an impressive outdoor lido, an indoor pool and a splash pad for the kids. If guests prefer their activities on land, there's a fully equipped gym, several bars including a rooftop bar with amazing views, and a family restaurant. In the pipeline for 2022 is a brand new fish and chip shop, a launderette refurbishment and a new high ropes course (not for the faint hearted!)

There are currently over 1,600 accommodation units on site, with 145 available for fleet hire and the balance privately owned. Of the privately owned stock, a further 200 units are sub-let and managed by Away Resorts.

Exclusive to Tattershall Lakes is a series of themed holiday accommodation including Lakeside Lodges, and the stunning TriBeCa and Rockstar villages.

Away Resorts is all about “delivering delight” for our guests. We need to be able to out-compete not only other park operators, but packaged holiday operators too. Part of this is having our guests feeling in control of their holiday from booking to departure and beyond, and having advanced electronic locks in our accommodation is a major part of it. The current electronic fob system is great to work with, much better than old metal keys and far more secure - if fobs are lost they can be easily cancelled.
We’re awaiting the launch of a brand new guest app, which will incorporate TLJ Mobile Keys. This will mean another leap forward and enable us to automatically send keys to guest’s mobile phones, which will be truly fantastic.
I’d also just like to point out how great the Service and Support Teams at TLJ have been. From the engineers installing locks on site to remote assistance with minor teething troubles, they have really been amazing. They’ve made the whole transition to electronic smart locks stress and hassle free, and it’s a pleasure dealing with them.
