As the PBSA sector prepares for the ‘new normal’ TLJ Access Control forge ahead with major fit-out projects.
With student intakes planned for the 2020-21 academic year, institutions and PBSA operators are nevertheless remaining flexible, given the uncertain nature of the progress of COVID-19. TLJ are happy to report that works are continuing apace; here we focus on four ongoing projects for leading PBSA developer, Watkin Jones Group.
Our long-standing relationship with this developer has seen us fit tens of thousands of locks for their PBSA projects in recent years, and this trend continues unabated. In particular, four major projects with Watkin Jones are nearing completion in the UK:
For operator Fresh Student Living, TLJ are installing 230 Identity model contactless electronic lock sets on student rooms. These include a mixture of en-suite clusters with shared kitchen facilities, plus self contained studio flats with private kitchenettes. The site will provide accommodation for students attending three large higher education establishments in and around the historic town.
This major redevelopment project in the heart of Coventry sees TLJ installing over 900 lock sets across 447 student accommodation units. These are a mixture of en-suite clusters and studio flats, which will be operated by Nido Student. The development also features a combination of retail and commercial units within a 42 storey tower.
Another mixed use development, the PBSA segment will again be run by Nido Student. 283 student rooms will be supplemented by commercial units on the ground floor. TLJ are installing over 400 Identity model locks throughout the accommodation, which will serve the plethora of higher education establishments in the capital.
Part of Nido Student’s broad PBSA portfolio, Alliot House will offer en-suite and studio accommodation at several price points to students attending London’s various universities. TLJ are installing 400 locks to student rooms and clusters.
We’ll publish more details as the projects are completed, so keep checking our updates.
