What a fantastic day at The UKAA BTR Fayre in central London earlier this week. The great and the good of the UK Build to Rent sector were there; funders, investors, developers, operators and constructors enjoying a packed programme of seminars, discussions and debates, along with guided Study Tours of key BTR projects in the capital.
Not to mention the Showcase Exhibition with over 30 leading suppliers to the BTR industry, where we were once again proud to exhibit as part of the Tech Innovation Partnership. Along with our colleagues at Quadient and SmartRent, it was a great opportunity to make new contacts and re-vitalise existing ones.
A highlight for us was getting the chance to ‘test drive’ the soon-to-be-revealed Best Practice Guide for BTR (landing page shown above). This innovative online document promises to be a searchable, dynamic resource that will harness the practical knowledge gained in the development and operation of BTR schemes over the last few years. It will update the forward-looking guidance contained in the ULI Design Guide and compliment the CREFC Guide to Financing Principles.
The comprehensive Guide covers topics from design and funding, through development and construction to mobilisation and operation. TLJ are proud to have contributed our knowledge to the Access Control section of the Guide.
And at the end of the day a chance to let our hair down - the event was topped off with the HomeViews National Awards and the Building Talent Recognition Awards, followed by a drinks reception, gala dinner and even a live band!
Thanks to all at the UKAA for putting in a huge amount of work to make this a great success. We can’t wait to see what events are planned for 2022!
