TLJ supporting the city of Sheffield’s expanding PBSA portfolio

Work continues at the former Grunwerg site on Rockingham Street in the city, for leading PBSA developer Watkin Jones.

The scheme will provide 691 beds for students in studio and cluster flats, with an additional 103 beds in build-to-rent apartments aimed at young professionals. The development is arranged across 5 blocks up to 17 storeys high, including a commercial unit.

TLJ’s Identity model electronic lock has been chosen for this installation, offering a striking split-level design. It comes with RFID operation via contactless keycard or fob, and can be upgraded with TLJ Mobile Keys - opening doors via smartphone.

In recent years, Watkin Jones has built over 2,300 student beds in Sheffield with the Grunwerg project due to complete in August 2021, ready for opening in September. Sale of the development to AIG Global Real Estate has already been agreed.
