We're happy to announce that, for yet another year, TLJ have been accredited as members of the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme, or CHAS for short.
It's easy to overlook, or take for granted, the ‘little’ things. In the current economic climate, as we move out of Covid lockdown, it would be convenient to categorise Health & Safety accreditation as a ‘little thing’. Fortunately, at TLJ, we don't take that view. We think it's important to provide reassurance to clients, staff and business partners that our health and safety processes meet or exceed all relevant standards.
The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme is a type of accreditation that proves a company’s health and safety provision is fit for purpose. Qualified health and safety professionals carry out CHAS assessments of a company’s processes and procedures to confirm they’re fulfilling everything required by law.
CHAS explain that
As one of the founders of third-party accreditation we are not only a trusted advisor on health and safety compliance, we are an authority. We set industry benchmarks, provide assurance and reassurance, and offer best-in-class services
Being one of the founders of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) highlights just how committed they are to best practices and their authority as an industry expert.
Claire Martin, TLJ's HSQE Director, explains why CHAS is important to us
TLJ is a business built on strong customer relationships and trust. We have a reputation for the high quality of our service offering; before, during and after installation. Part of this is our attitude to Health & Safety; if we behave in a responsible manner, and are seen to be doing so, we believe it’s incredibly reassuring to our customers. Not only that, but we are committed to ensuring our staff are happy, comfortable and confident in the workplace (wherever that may be). Achieving CHAS accreditation goes a long way towards this aim.
