TLJ’s helping hand as true Student Living Salford opens doors to students
A busy last weekend in the north west as true Student Living welcome this year’s new intake at Discovery Quay Salford. TLJ staff were there to support the opening of this stunning 402-bed PBSA development, serving Salford and Manchester Universities.
Over 400 TLJ Infinity electronic contactless locks have been installed, operated by RFID fobs. This eliminates the costly problem of lost keys, as new fobs can be coded quickly and cheaply on site. There is a further option to upgrade to TLJ Mobile Keys, which would allow students to access their rooms using only their smartphone.
Shared entrance doors are controlled by TLJ Access Readers, integrated with our Elevator Controller system to further enhance security and peace of mind for the student.
At the heart of the thriving Salford Quays community - incorporating numerous bars, restaurants and the world-famous Media City - the building comprises two tower blocks with a 75% / 25% split between en-suite bedrooms and studio flats.
true Student Salford has been another TLJ collaboration with long-term partners Excelsior Services, constructors Create Group and developer Bricks Group.
TLJ’s Chief Operations Officer, Joe Martin, said:
It was a pleasure to be involved in the Discovery Quays project for true Student Living. Being there over the weekend saw the culmination this significant project, working alongside our long-term partners. We have helped deliver something truly world-class and worthy of the great universities of the north west. We wish all the students arriving from next month a happy and successful university life.
Mark Rivett, Project Engineer, Excelsior Services added:
TLJ has been a great help on the Discovery Quay project for true Student Living. Your engineers have gone above and beyond to ensure this project would be complete on time so thank you.
