True Student Sheffield is a striking new-build development located in the heart of the city’s student district. Standing at 28 storeys, it is set to become Sheffield’s second tallest building and a recognisable landmark on the skyline. Designed by Lewis & Hickey Architects and delivered by Aztec Construction, the scheme offers 494 beds across a mix of contemporary cluster apartments and private studio rooms.
As a long-standing partner of True Student, TLJ was appointed to deliver the full access control package for this flagship site. The project required a robust, futureproof solution suitable for high-density student living across a brand-new building envelope. TLJ supplied and installed 512 Infinity electronic locks to all bedrooms, 32 communal access-controlled doors throughout the property, and four lift controllers to ensure seamless movement across the building’s many floors.
Because the development was a new build, TLJ worked closely with the project team from early design stages, ensuring fire integrity, door compatibility and system configuration were all fully aligned prior to installation. Our engineering teams integrated smoothly with the construction programme, coordinating with on-site contractors to meet key project milestones and ensure the building was ready for handover ahead of student arrivals.
True Student has used TLJ technology across multiple developments nationwide, so adopting the Infinity lock for Sheffield was a natural continuation of a trusted partnership. The result is a secure, intuitive and reliable access control system that supports both operational efficiency for the operator and a premium living experience for residents in one of Sheffield’s most exciting new student schemes.
