TLJ breathes new life into 12th Century country house estate
Wroxall Abbey in Warwickshire is a Grade II-listed, 72-bedroom country house set within 27 acres of open parkland. The one-time country estate of architect Sir Christopher Wren, Wroxall boasts 12 conference and meeting rooms, two restaurants and two bars. Onsite facilities include a swimming pool, spa, tennis courts plus a large permanent marquee for up to 650 guests. The estate even features its own gothic Lady Chapel, popular for weddings.
Having fallen into administration in 2019, the four-star property has bounced back under new stewardship and is undergoing a thorough refurbishment across the site. Current leaseholders, Trinity Hotel Limited, plan to re-open as soon as the renovations are complete.
Contactless, electronic smart locking
The new owners have specified TLJ’s Infinity model electronic lock for all guest room doors and throughout the main building, spa facility, courtyard block and onsite chapel. There project features just over 100 locks in total.
The Infinity is a self-contained lockset and supports RFID operation by keycard, fob or wristband. There is also the option of Mobile Key activation: opening doors by smartphone and providing guests and operator alike with the ultimate in convenience.
Quick & easy upgrade
A major benefit at Wroxall Abbey came, surprisingly, in the form of their existing lock installation.
Obsolete, magnetic-stripe “Ving Card” locks were previously fitted. However, the TLJ Infinity is designed as a direct swap for this model, requiring no further cutting of the door.
Fitting time is reduced to a few minutes, and installation cost is minimised.
A bright future for Wroxall Abbey
Despite having a rich and illustrious past, Wroxall Abbey is destined for a bright and successful future. As lockdown restrictions are gradually eased in the UK, the new leaseholders, Trinity Hotel Limited, are confident of high occupancy rates - not least because weddings of up to 650 guests can be accommodated.
